Halloween can be a fun and exciting day for families, but don’t forget to take Fluffy into consideration. Remember these tips to keep your pets safe on October 31st!
-
Keep the candy away from Fluffy! Chocolate can be toxic for pets, but so can many other ingredients in candy. Be sure to keep bowls and buckets of candy out of reach.
-
There’s nothing cuter than a pet in a dressed in their Halloween costume! Just be sure that the costume does not obstruct your pet from eating, drinking, using the restroom, and moving freely. Never force your pet to wear a costume.
-
Lots of visitors can spook your pets. Especially since these visitors might be dressed up and masked. Give your pet a safe place to go on Halloween night such as a room to themselves or a crate.
-
Frequent opening of the front door gives lots of opportunities for runners to get away; especially if they are scared. If your pet has a tendency to bolt out the front door, be sure they are restrained or in a crate. Make sure all pets have proper identification and microchip registration is up to date.
-
Be cautious of Halloween decorations that are in reach of pets. Small pieces can be choking hazards. Keep pets away from jack-o-lanterns and dry ice as they can cause serious burns and injury.
Have fun and be safe!
